My ex boyfriend's best friend wants to go out with me, but I still like my ex. My friends are saying he still likes me, too. His best friend calls me every day and he is really nice and I don't want to hurt him. But I really want back with my ex. What do I do?
If you don't like this guy, don't go out with him. Tell him as nicely as you can that you're interested in someone else and tell him you can only be his friend.
This is the right thing to do. The WRONG thing would be to date him in the hopes of making your ex jealous. While it could easily accomplish that goal, it could backfire tremendously and make it look like you don't really care for your ex. And let's not forget it's never nice to use anybody ... so don't do it. (I know you didn't ask about this, but I'm just throwing it out there as something NOT to do ...)
The only way you're going to find out if your ex is still in to you, is to just go ask him. It's great your friends think he is, but ... you need to find out for yourself. And then take action on it. Go ahead. Don't be shy. You guys have history so that should make it a little easier to approach him.
