Dear Dee:
I've got a problem. You see my soccer team needs me. I am the best player. I have been missing a few practices to see this new kid whose is a surfer.
My team is mad and in weeks we have a big game. I also have a date and it's on the same day. What do I choose: a great team or a great guy?
When you joined your soccer team, you made a commitment to the team. So your team should be your priority!
By ditching them, you're showing your team they don't matter AND that you don't honor your commitments. This isn't how you want your team mates to view you, is it?
You've already ditched a few practices, which in itself is an indication of your lack of commitment, but you admit to being the best player -- and that your team needs you. So whether you want to admit it or not, you already know you have a responsibility. Now do your best to live up to it.
If this guy is really worth it, he will understand and will appreciate a girl who keeps her word/commitments. After all, it says a lot about your character.
