'Free Hug Day' Is Major PIA

Dear Dee:
All of the 'popular' people set up this thing called ‘free hug day.'
It's like every first Monday of the month or something like that. So, this guy gave me a hug on free hug day and he also hugged me on a day that wasn't free hug day. Does that mean he likes me?

Hummmmmm. I thought every day was free hug day ... because I have never paid for a hug ... (Oh wait ... no. we won't talk about that one).

Anyway, it's really hard to determine whether or not a hug is a sign of someone wanting to date you. I mean hugs are given out so randomly now and have almost turned into a meaningless gesture in some circles (especially Free Hug Day). I guess we could dive into the hug itself - does he squeeze ya, hold on a little longer than necessary or maybe take a few sniffs of your hair ... yeah. It's kinda hard to tell, right?

I think I'd focus on how he acts towards you on the other days and see if his body language and manner sends off the ‘I like you' vibe. Talk to him. See how he reacts to you striking up a conversation vs. him initiating a hug.

So the ball is in your court. I can't give you much more insight than that, since I don't know anything besides him giving you hugs on the free day ... but just go with your gut and your instincts. Watch him. Interact with him. And if all else fails, hug him.
